This is me
Hi, I’m Eri Silva — a bilingual journalist and communications professional with over five years of experience covering Latin American affairs, critical minerals, the energy transition, and global financial systems.
I have watched country representatives argue over scraping the ocean floor for minerals and carefully analyzed the geopolitical implications of the Inflation Reduction Act. In the end, I work to link the worlds of policy, finance and sustainability and build a bridge for the various audiences.
At heart, I’m a storyteller and researcher. My work sits at the intersection of political economy, environmental justice, and global development with a special focus on how these forces shape communities in Latin America.
I specialize in making complex, technical issues engaging and accessible. Whether I’m analyzing data, conducting interviews, or writing long-form features, my goal is to connect on-the-ground realities with the global systems that influence them.
I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in International Development and Economics to deepening my expertise in political economy, policy and critical analysis.
